To ensure we produce top-quality Goldendoodles, our first priority is the well-being and happiness of the parents. We treat them like royalty, providing them with a high-quality diet consisting of fresh and nutritious food, delicious treats, regular healthcare check-ups, and plenty of daily playtime and cuddles. Before being bred, our parents undergo extensive health testing to ensure that we bring healthy and robust puppies into the world. This rigorous process ensures that our Goldendoodles are born from healthy and genetically sound parents, setting the foundation for their well-being and longevity.
Moms receive the utmost care and attention during pregnancy and whelping. We prioritize their well-being by taking them to multiple vet visits to ensure their health and address any concerns. Their nutrition is carefully tailored to meet their specific needs during this crucial stage, providing them with increased nourishment. To keep them comfortable and relaxed, they enjoy daily massages and grooming.
When it's time for delivery, we are right there by their side, providing constant support and assistance. We understand that each mom's experience is unique and we are prepared to intervene if necessary. Our presence throughout the entire process ensures that our moms feel secure and nurtured, allowing them to focus on bringing their beautiful puppies into the world.
From the moment they are 3 days old, we start implementing a special program called ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) to enhance the development of our puppies. This program runs from 3 days old to 16 days old, and we also conduct daily weigh-ins to ensure they receive sufficient nutrition. ENS has been proven to have numerous benefits, such as improving cardiovascular performance, increasing resistance to disease, enhancing stress tolerance, strengthening adrenal glands, and promoting stronger heartbeats. On the other hand, ESI helps the puppies develop a sharper sense of smell and boosts their confidence.
At 3 weeks old we begin a “puppy massage” every day and increase pressure weekly. This more advanced curriculum with our puppies was set forth by Jeanette Forrey the founder of the Badass Breeder Program. We use our puppy massage to ensure our puppies are exposed to different types of touch and handling. This includes back, tail, ears, tummy, paws, nails, collar, mouth and nose. We also like to start brushing them with an electric toothbrush to get them used to the sound of clippers. By implementing this, we provide our puppies with a well-rounded early sensory experience, ensuring they’re confident and adaptable!
Starting at 3 weeks old, we focus on socializing our puppies and exposing them to various sights, sounds, and textures. We create daily mental and physical challenges to build their confidence, problem-solving skills, and nerve strength. Our goal is to provide an enriching environment for the puppies' first 8 weeks, while new families have an additional 8 weeks to continue their development. Our aim is to create well-balanced and confident puppies.
After week 6/7 of age, we perform a comprehensive temperament test on each puppy. This test focuses on important temperament traits to ensure that you get a puppy that aligns with your lifestyle and needs, while also respecting the individuality of each puppy. Once the temperament testing is completed, families will receive scorecards for each puppy, allowing them to make an informed decision on the day they take their puppy home. Please note that the selection of puppies follows the order of the waitlist after the temperament testing, WITHOUT ANY EXCEPTIONS
At around 3 weeks old, we begin introducing potty training to our puppies. We create a separate potty area within the whelping box to teach them the concept of going to a designated spot to relieve themselves. It's crucial to understand that although we start potty training early, the puppies will not be fully potty trained when they go home with you. It's normal for puppies to have accidents, especially when they experience changes in their environment. Continuous training and positive reinforcement are necessary to minimize accidents and encourage proper potty habits.
Crate training is an important part of our puppy training process as it aids in both potty training and creating a secure and cozy space for them. We initiate crate training by covering their crates and playing soft music to help them feel more at ease. However, it's important to note that they will NOT be perfect in the crate right away. They are in a completely new environment, and the first few nights away from their littermates can be challenging as they adapt. It takes time and patience to help them become comfortable and confident in their crate.
Leash training is an essential part of our puppy training program. While it's important to understand that they will NOT be fully leash trained when they go home, we start introducing them to leash training early on to establish a foundation. This early training sets the groundwork for teaching your new puppy how to walk properly on a leash and avoid pulling. It's a gradual process that requires consistency and positive reinforcement to help them develop good leash manners over time.
